5 Tips to Help You Stay Consistent with Your Workouts

The daily school shuffle, the ever-changing schedules, constant meal prep, dishes that need washing and do I need to go on? With so much on my plate, I find it vital to keep that self-care a top priority...or else
And I know I'm not alone.
It seems like there is ALWAYS something coming up on the calendar that is going to send our normal routines into chaos and take up all of our extra time. No rest for the wicked, am I right?
So, right now, let's take a breather and remind ourselves of some small yet effective tricks to keep the self-care flame burning, even when life's craziness threatens to extinguish it…
Because it’s important.
Just because the easiest thing to put on the back burner is ourselves…doesn’t mean it’s the BEST thing to put on the back burner. In fact, I would argue it’s WORSE to not prioritize ourselves.
Okay… now stepping off my soapbox to share some non-overwhelming ways to prioritize yourself when chaos hits (so like, all the time).
1. Name Your Commitment:
It's time to get real with yourself. What's your "why"? Knowing why you're on this health journey is the secret sauce to staying on track, even when life goes haywire.
Maybe your commitment is moving every day. That doesn’t mean you have to fit in a full hour at the gym or train like you’re running a marathon. It just means, moving your body every day. Choose a commitment you can realistically take on.

2. Schedule Your Workouts:
Trust me, squeezing in workouts day by day is a mental workout in itself. Why not have it all laid out in your schedule? It not only makes it easier to show up for yourself but also sends a message that your well-being is just as important as any meeting or appointment.

These workouts are 30min, 5 days/week for 2 weeks. All you have to do is grab your plan, click on the video for the day, enjoy moving your body, and then rinse and repeat!
3. Follow a Plan (A or B):
No more wondering what to do during your workout. There are too many fantastic workout plans out there waiting for you. All you need to do is pick one and roll with it.

4. Prep an Emergency Kit:
Life loves throwing curveballs, doesn't it? Be ready for those unexpected moments. Stock up on essentials like protein powder for quick and nutritious meals or a couple of dumbbells to turn your living room into a home gym.
And then have a plan B for when plan A gets lost in the chaos of life. Can’t fit in your Busy Girl workout for the day? That’s okay! Have a list of quick movements in mind that you can squeeze in instead. Maybe it’s taking a walk during your kids’ practice, doing squats in the kitchen while dinner is going, stretching while watching House of the Dragon, or whatever you’re binging once the kids go to bed!
5. Share Your Journey:
Ever tried having an accountability partner? It's like having a personal cheerleader, coach, and motivator all rolled into one. Sharing your goals with someone who holds you accountable is pure magic for staying consistent.
I tell my clients this all the time…Our motivations will fluctuate, but our commitments stay the same. Hopefully, these five tips are here to help you stand your ground and keep moving toward your goals, even during the craziest times of the year.
