Rewrite the Narrative: Embrace Body Positivity and Confidence
Jul 29, 2024We all grew up with someone or many someones that made comments about their own body, other women’s bodies…maybe even YOUR body and those comments stuck with us for a long time.
I remember talking with a client who read Gwyneth Paltrow say she would fast all day so she could eat whatever she wanted at dinner and it stuck in my client’s head while postpartum with her first baby. It caused all sorts of issues with her hormones and she had to work through that narrative to rewrite what is true for her own health.
And honestly, in a world saturated with diet culture and body-shaming messages, it's time for women to rewrite the narrative we’ve been force-fed for so long. Let's replace those toxic sayings with affirmations that celebrate our bodies and boost our confidence…
💬 Instead of: “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”
✨ We say: “Nothing looks as good as confidence feels”
💬 Instead of: “I need to burn off (insert food here)”
✨ We say: “It would feel good to move my body”💬 Instead of: “A moment on the lips, forever on the hips”
✨ We say: “I’m so grateful for the balance in my life to enjoy foods I love”
💬 Instead of: “I’m working on my bikini body”
✨ We say: “I'm working towards feeling confident in myself”
💬 Instead of: “Mom pooch”
✨ We say: “Hot mom”
Rewriting the Narrative for Women’s Health
Gosh, there are so many of these we could do. Low-rise jeans, muffin top, “I feel fat”, intermittent fasting...
Let's rewrite them all! Think of some other toxic sayings or things you've encountered… these sayings don’t have to hold power, let’s use them as an opportunity to create a more positive and empowering dialogue around our bodies and self-worth.
Pick your favorite rewrite and put it somewhere you see often! Make it your new mantra.

It’s easier to go on this journey of rewriting the toxic narratives we’re told about our body and health when we’re doing it with someone else. I’m building a community of women who want to embrace positivity, celebrate their body, and feel confident in their skin.
Apart of this rewrite is shifting our mindset around what a healthy workout routine looks like. I think a lot of us get it into our heads that if we aren’t sweating every ounce of fat off our bodies every single day, then we might as well not do anything. Not only is this NOT true but it’s just too unrealistic of an expectation. Most likely, you’re too busy to commit to a hard-core workout plan like this, which is why I’ve created a no-thought-required workout plan for busy girls like us.
You can get it for FREE, just grab it from me here.
These workouts are 30min, 5 days/week for 2 weeks. All you have to do is grab your plan, click on the video for the day, enjoy moving your body, and then rinse and repeat!
I hope you enjoy rewriting the narrative with me, starting with a realistic workout plan for REAL life!
